This year-round concert series is mainly dedicated to emerging artists, often from BC but sometimes from other provinces or French-speaking countries. It provides a stage to experiment on and a place to gain experience as performers while also allowing Greater Vancouver audiences to discover professional quality French-language concerts on a more regular basis.

The Nouvelle Scène series is also open to artists who are more advanced in their careers, who want to present a new piece of work. The Nouvelle Scène series has become a pillar for album release for many francophone British Columbian singers/songwriters, who want to present their new work in a more intimate setting, before hitting the stage at more major events such as the Festival d’été francophone de Vancouver or the Coup de coeur francophone de Vancouver, here in Vancouver, or elsewhere in Canada.

Four hands and one piano, a dynamic duo full of sensitivity. Let Amélie Fortin and Marie-Christine Poirier take you with them to their passionate interpretations with four hands. A "revisit" of the classical music that you must see!

The Duo Fortin-Poirier is a “piano four hands” ensemble with two pianists, Amélie Fortin and Marie-Christine Poirier, on one piano. Their passionate interpretations are enriched by their acute sensitivity and the remarkable affinity they share as musicians.
Since the ensemble was created in 2005, the Duo Fortin-Poirier has been acclaimed both in Canada and internationally, with many distinctions, scholarships and awards including 1st prize at the Canadian Music Competition, 2nd prize at the Concorso Pianistico Internazionale Roma in 2013, selection as finalists in the Concours international de piano à quatre mains de Valberg in 2009 and at the Liszt 200 Chicago International Duo Piano Competition in 2011. A special mention from the jury at the International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in 2010 and scholarships from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Québec Conseil des Arts.
Very prolific on the North American music scene, the Duo Fortin-Poirier created "Vingt doigts et un piano" (Twenty fingers on one piano) in 2008, the first classical music concert to be selected for the Entrées en Scène Loto-Québec (2013-2014). More recently, the duo has also played at the Festival de Lanaudière (2015), toured in the Maritimes with Debut Atlantic (2017), and performed their concert entitled "Mémoires" on tour with Prairie Debut (2016-2017). The two pianists also criss-crossed the Western states of USA on tour in April 2017. Their recordings, "Vingt doigts et un piano" (2013) and "Mémoires" (2017) are featured regularly on the program Espace Musique, on CBC-Radio Canada Premiere and on Radio-Classique.
