ÉTIENNE FLETCHER (SK)

Like most free spirits, whose singularity attracts attention and whose creativity does not rely on any touchstones other than his personal conviction, Étienne Fletcher possesses a special magnetism. Bright eyed, hoarse voiced, melodic skill, at ease on stage. No surprise that he and his electrified yellow-green-red (colors of his province’s flag) rock-pop of guitars and keyboards are magnets, especially for trophies. Rock artist of the year at the 2019 Trille Or gala, Grand Jury Prize at the 2018 Cabaret Festif ! de la Relève, one of Les 21 at the 2017 Francouvertes, one of three finalists honoured at the 2016 FICG (Granby International Chanson Festival), winner of all the honours at the 2015 Gala Nouvelle Scène; his magnetic attraction has become famous, from Brussels, where he was showcased at the 2018 FrancoFaune, to Vancouver, where the same year, he was on stage at the Festival d’été with his acclaimed Face A. When he announced the release of his very first LP for the fall of 2021, he was back with the promise of something new, including the promise of a quick spree to “Christmas in August” on the following day.

MIRO (QC)

“Following in the footsteps of Les Louanges and many other soul/pop/R&B/hip-hop artists in the keb movement, Miro Belzil has created an album that is a harbinger of a brilliant career” – this was the headline in Montreal’s newspaper La Presse (Alain Brunet) in November 2019 to highlight the release of Miro’s first LP, "En retard sur ma vie", produced by Pierre-Luc Rioux (Loud, Bruno Mars, Sia, David Guetta). The prediction proved to be true: an accomplished influencer, songwriter, composer, singer, beatmaker and multi-instrumentalist, to top it off classically trained and therefore exceptionally rigorous, Miro is a young first, gifted, a hitmaker who, even back then, revealed “an urban music landscape perfectly adapted to the North American francophone scene”.

Two years and a thousand tributes later, a première in Paris at the festival “Aurores Montréal”, the 2020 ICI Musique (Radio-Canada Radio Two) award for best album, a showcase at RIDEAU, the biggest francophone rendez-vous for performance arts in North America, a Félix nomination for Discovery of the Year at the 2020 Quebec Music Industry Award, a live show from the rooftop of the world’s highest leaning tower — the first in the history of the Olympic Stadium — before an audience of some 125,000 awe-struck spectators, half a million views of his five videoclips, a tour that keeps getting longer and a new album to be released in the fall of 2021 have all confirmed it. Miro is awaited. At the top. Once again.
