Rachid Badouri

After the success of his first two shows, “Arrête ton cinéma! and “Badouri Rechargé and more than 800,000 tickets sold worldwide, Rachid Badouri is without a doubt one of the most viewed comedians of his generation. This multi-talented Moroccan-born artist who made his home in Laval has certainly carved an enviable niche for himself in the francophone cultural world. In addition to his first two one-man shows, Rachid has demonstrated his artistic versatility as a film and a television host. With his unique and eccentric personality, Rachid Badouri definitely has plenty more surprises in store for us.

Laurent Paquin

Laurent Paquin won over Quebec audiences from the day he launched his first one-man-show “Première Impression in 2001. In 2006, he presented his second solo show “Tout est relative. It was a huge hit, seen by more than 125,000 people and it won two Olivier awards for “Best Comedy Show” and “Best Author of the Year”. On stage, Laurent Paquin played in “L’emmerdeur” and productions in Montreal and Paris of the musical comedy Chicago. On television, he played in the last six seasons of “Histoires de filles” and in the first two seasons of “Caméra Café”. For three years he did the “Bertrand the Beaver” voiceover in the catchy ad for Bell. From 2009 to 2012, as host of “Debout Montreal” on CKOI radio, he was one of the most popular announcers in the metropolitan region. In the summer of 2012, he realised his dream with the release of his first music album: Laurent Paquin chante Laurent Paquin. In March 2013, Laurent launched his third one-man-show, “l’Ereure est humaine”,  which sold over 150,000 tickets for 250 performances. He also appeared in the movie “Il était une fois Les Boys” as well as in “Bye Bye” in 2013, 2014, and 2015 in the roles of Robin Thicke (Blurred Lines) and Denis Coderre. In March 2014, Laurent co-hosted the Gala des Jutra with Pénélope McQuade. In 2015, he hosted the 17th Gala Les Olivier as well as his 12th Gala Just for Laughs, setting a record for the number of consecutive years for any host.

Katherine Levac

Katherine Levac emerged from the 2013 cohort of the École nationale de l’humour and took off like a shot. Fresh out of school, she drew attention by winning the competition “En route vers mon premier Gala Juste pour rire. Television audiences soon got to know her, thanks to her notable performances in “SNL Québec, which garnered her first nomination at the Gala des Prix Gémeaux, and the TV documentary series “Les 5 prochains. In 2015, she received the recognition of her peers when she won the Olivier “Discovery of the year” at the Gala Les Olivier. On TV, she shared the screen with MC Gilles, who gave her a segment on popular culture in “PaparaGilles, and then she returned to the SNL gang for skits on “Le nouveau show. She is also a star in the comedy “Like-moi! and in the youth program “Code F. With “Velours, her first solo show, Katherine Levac displays all the subtleties that punctuate her deadpan humour, whether she is coming across as tender hearted or baring her teeth and claws.

Born in Morocco and raised in North America, NEEV has all it takes to navigate comfortably between diverse cultures, accents, customs and madcap situations! Since 2009, he has been a frequent feature of Juste pour rire and ComédiHa! festivals as well as TV shows: En direct de l' Mariana Mazza, L'Open Mic de... Dominic & Martin (season 2) and Patrick Groulx (season 1), Dans ma tête, Selon l'Opinion Comique, D'un rire à l'autre, Juste pour rire en direct, Gravel le matin, Mike Ward Sous Écoute and ads for Sleeman, Tangerine, V8, Chevrolet Cruze, Taxi Diamond and more. After touring Quebec as an opener for Simon Gouache and Louis-José Houde, he launched his first solo show! A popular host at the Bordel Comédie Club in Montreal since it opened, NEEV is a guaranteed dose of energy and laughter. This lovable loudmouth is different, funny and surprising!

Joey Lespérance

Joey has been a well-known performer on the Vancouver stage for over three decades. Growing up in an English-speaking environment with an Italian mother and a francophone father, his first language has always been comedy. “I won’t brag about having been nominated seven times in the Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards and even getting one in 2015, the award for “Best Actor in a Lead Role”. No, I won’t brag about it. That’s just not my style.” “My favourite subject… my love life! It’s lucky I have a partner who gives me lots of material. Better to laugh about it than get divorced.” Joey extends his thanks to Le Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver for their support. During a pandemic, we may as well find something to laugh about.

Luc LeBlanc

Comedian and thespian Luc LeBlanc is best known for his role as “Citrouille au Pays de la Sagouine”, but his stage experience does not stop there. He has acted in productions of Théâtre l’Escaouette, Théâtre populaire d’Acadie, Théâtre du Bocage, Le Rideau Vert, La Maison Théâtre and T.N.O.  In addition, his talent has taken him onto the boards of the Vieille 17, C.N.A., Théâtre français du Toronto, Théâtre La Seizième and La Licorne. As a young man back in 1990, LeBlanc’s success in the Juste pour Rire Atlantique auditions took him to Club Soda in Montreal, where he competed with Martin Petit and Maxime Martin, among others. He gave up a potential career in Quebec to return to Acadia. In the spring of 2013, Luc returned to stand-up comedy with a first number at the 2013 Gala des Rendez-vous de la Francophonie, first in Moncton, then in Vancouver and Ottawa.  He shared the stage with Boucar Diouf and Jérémy Demay.  Since the summer of 2013, he opened for Stéphane Rousseau at the Festival Acadien de Caraquet. An exceptionally dynamic and energetic comedian, Luc has focussed on a new challenge as a stand-up comic. With a phenomenal stage presence, he has been warmly received wherever he appears.

Samuel Chiasson

Sam Chiasson has been part of the comedy scene for some twenty years, which seems hard to believe because he looks like he’s thirty. He managed to survive as an actor and scriptwriter for La Revue Acadienne, in spite of his brazen imitations of influential people on the Atlantic and the national arts scene. Rumour has it that the SAANB (Société des Acadiens et Acadiennes du Nouveau-Brunswick) even put a price on his head. Now he is making his mark with stand-up comedy, for example with “Une bière pis un punch” at the Cavok brewing place in Dieppe. He doesn’t make jokes about male-female relationships because he knows absolutely nothing about the subject.

Inès Wolff

Inès was born in Paris and she moved to Canada with her family four years ago. She is a student at the Jules-Verne Secondary School in Vancouver. She is a dynamic young woman who loves reading, sports and of course comedy! She is looking forward to finding a virtual audience again. She is taking the Just for Laughs training with comedian Jérémie Larouche to learn how to create a video capsule of her comedy routine with a smartphone.

Élodie Bailey Vaudandaine

Elodie is a francophone student in Victoria. She is also a comedian. Initially, she discovered her own sense of humour when she took up improvisation with the Franco-Columbian Improvisation League. Ever since, she has been passionate about bilingual stand-up comedy, in live as well as studio performances. She believes having a good laugh from time to time is an underestimated solution to many problems. At present, she is the host of “La Chronique d'Elodie” on Radio Victoria. When she is "off-air", she represents francophone youth in her province through her many engagements with the British Columbia Francophone Youth Council (CJFCB), and she continues to spearhead initiatives for the vitality of B.C.’s francophone community. As well as Inès, she is taking the Just for Laughs training with comedian Jérémie Larouche to learn how to create a video capsule of her comedy routine with a smartphone.
