From November 3 to December 17, artist Majie Lavergne will present his exhibition "Fragments of love" at Le Centre culturel. This series “Love always falls back on its feet” is a positive and hopeful response to the difficult times we are facing. In each painting, he deconstructed the word L-O-V-E into lines and circles in various configurations. Yet, as the “E” of LOVE lands at the bottom right of each painting, with constancy and stability, it reminds us that just like the sun, sometimes hiding behind the clouds, love too, is always present. Stylistically, he looks for the play between geometrical and organic shapes and how this rich interface creates a dynamic visual dance. Finally, he fell in love with the new art medium; “alcohol ink”. The amazing and magical colours and unpredictable unfolding of this medium fill him up with joy.

Majie Lavergne is an abstract painter, born in Paris, France. His father, Robert Lavergne, a well-recognized post-impressionist painter, fostered his love for painting at an early age. His fascination for abstract art came from his Godfather, Louis Nallard, a pioneer of the French lyrical abstract movement. His work has appeared in more than 20 solo and group exhibitions, in Paris, the United States and Canada. He has received five awards from the Federation of Canadian Artists.

To celebrate his exhibition, Majie offers you a chance to win a print of one of his paintings, 50'' X 40''. Click here to enter the giveaway. Withdraw on November 5th. All participants will receive a 25% discount to use on Majie's website.
