From January 21 to March 4, Le Centre will host an exhibition of the photographic works of Catherine Babault, featuring the artist’s intimate portraits of the natural landscapes and the flora and fauna of the West Coast. Using natural light, Catherine focuses on the details and textures of nature to capture images that are unequivocally unique. In her work, Catherine’s aim is to draw our attention to the beauty and diversity of our ecosystems, their fragility, and to what extent they rely on us to ensure their preservation.

Photographer Catherine Babault is a nature photographer based on Vancouver Island and she is the recipient of two national awards. As her work regularly takes her out into the field, Catherine makes it a point of honour not to disturb nature. She does not interfere with the habitat of wild animals, does not lure them with bait, and never harasses them. She does not destroy any vegetation.

Catherine is also the author of a published book of photography entitled "Vancouver Island Wildlife, a photo journey", which takes us into the heart of the animal and plant life of Vancouver Island. She also holds in-the-field photography workshops.
