Camp Virgule is a fantastic opportunity for children from 6 to 12 years of age to learn and practice their French while having fun.

A special program is created each year around entertaining activities, including games, sports, outdoor excursions, visits to the beach and museums, for a summer that is full of francophone adventures !

Every week, there is a theme that inspires the camp's activities.


The Camp Virgule 2017 will run for 7 weeks, from July 4th to August 18th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday

Week 1: To Infinity and Beyond! - July 4 to 7 - 4 days

This week, explore the stars, the planets and even aliens! We will visit the Macmillan Space Centre and you will participate in many stimulating activities fit for a future astronaut. At the end of the week you will have the chance to take home extraordinary art projects!

Week 2: Under the Sea - July 10 to 14

Hop on board the Camp Virgule submarine and witness an unforgettable adventure. Do you like fish, sharks and other aquatic creatures? If yes, join us during this fun ocean-themed week. We will visit the aquarium, the beach and we will have a treasure hunt!

Week 3: The Great Outdoors - July 17 to 21

Ahhh fresh mountain air! We are lucky to live in Vancouver where we are so close to nature and to the forest. Do you love trees, animals and new trails? This week we will embark on an exploration of the Capilano Suspension bridge, Southlands Farm and we will spend a lot of time outdoors.

Week 4: Music Mania - July 24 to 28

Do you love singing or dancing? Or maybe you simply love listening to music? We present to you a perfect week filled with francophone music. Together, we will do Zumba, we will visit the Kerrisdale Play Palace and we will listen to a lot of music.

Week 5: The Olympics - July 31 to August 4 

Everyone loves watching the Olympic Games on TV. Imagine if you had the opportunity to participate in a mini Olympic Games here at Camp Virgule! It will be a week of games and challenges. You are welcome to join us at the Richmond Olympic Oval and to play endless fun games with us!

Week 6: Around the World - August 8 to 11 - 4 days (FULL)

Let’s go around the world this summer! Together we will travel to China, India, Europe, Antarctica and ancient Canada. By visiting Watermania, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen garden and participating in Fly Over Canada we will learn all about other cultures. It will be a week full of crafts, games and theatre.

Week 7: Dino-camp - August 14 to 18 (FULL)

Dinosaurs are fascinating and mysterious. Would you like to participate in expeditions, scavenger hunts and visit Telus World of Science that currently has an expedition on dinosaurs and Southlands farm? It will be an unforgettable week!

  • Child care service

From 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from  4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
*Please note that if a parent  drops off a child before 8:50 a.m. or comes for pick up after 4:10 p.m. then that parent will be charged the full child care fee. 

  • Who can participate

All children from 6 to 12 years old, francophone or currently attending a French core program or French immersion. Please note that a proof of age will be asked for each registration.

  • Group structure

1 coordinator & 3 instructors (+ volunteers when needed). 

  • Where

Studio 16, located at Le Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver.

  • Payment 

Payment can be made by cheque, Debit, MasterCard, Visa or Cash. 

  • Required Material

Each child must bring a cold lunch and two snacks every day, as well as a bathing suit, towel, hat, sunscreen and a pair of running shoes. All items must be clearly marked with the child’s name.
