Why support?
We are proud to be a meeting place for Francophones to enjoy cultural events that reflect their culture as well as their sense of belonging to the Francophone milieu, and also for Francophiles to discover the language and Francophone culture. We foster creativity within the Vancouver Francophone community, bring talent from the world's other French-speaking nations and regions, and in general, serve as the link between Vancouver residents and live cultural experiences that would otherwise not be available in the city.
We also offer a variety of educational and community services such as:
- A growing library of more than 10,000 French-language books
- More than 2,000 French-language films on video and DVD available for rent (including the National Film Board's French-language collection)
- Free rentals of children's videos
- French language courses for adults and youth
- Camp Virgule summer day camp in Vancouver and North Vancouver, benefiting more than 200 children each year who learn through while having fun
- French storytelling for toddlers
- Visual arts exhibitions
- A community Internet access site
- ''Mercredis-rencontres'' wednesday night rendez-vous: informal gatherings for conversation and friendship
- Philosopher's Café, where people are invited to come and share their opinion in French about a topic raised by a special guest
- Out and about with friends - French language excursions to Vancouver attractions for children and parents
- The Salade de fruits café - a gathering place with French flair
